Once again, Dove Cameron has won an award and dedicated it to the people who matter most to her – the LGBTQ+ community. This time, the dedication came after she picked up her first American Music Award.

Cameron opened up the awards by performing her seductive sapphic hit “Boyfriend” and then won the first award of the night for Best New Artist.

As soon as she accepted the award, Cameron showed why she’s one of the most eloquent queer artists out today.

“I want to start by saying that every award that I ever win will always first and foremost be dedicated to the queer community at large,” she began her acceptance speech.
