Richmond, Va. singer-songwriter Natalie Prass has released a new track, “Lost,” and announced a string of North American headlining dates. “Lost” is taken from Prass’ forthcoming album, The Future And The Past, out on June 1 via ATO Records.
“Lost” is the third single from her new album following the release of “Sisters” and “Short Court Style.” “Lost” is a boundless piano ballad that shows off Prass’ impressive jazz and pop vocal chops, and her undeniable fearlessness and honesty in addressing heartbreak.
On Tuesday, Prass tweeted her apprehension about recording the song: “Taking a deep breath and releasing my new song ‘Lost’ today. I was afraid to record this one, I fought it hard (and it almost didn’t make it) because it was written during a time that I needed to completely put behind me … But I wrapped my head around a new understanding of it’s lyrics … it’s empowering. It’s about putting your foot down when enough is enough.”
